Visiting the Carl J. McEwen Historic Village
The Historic Village gathers historic structures from the Mint Hill area in one place, interpreted by the Mint Hill Historical Society.
What the Village Is
The Carl J. McEwen Historic Village is a collection of historic buildings associated with the Mint Hill Historical Society. Several structures were relocated to the site for preservation, so their current setting is not necessarily their original one.
Planning a Visit
- Confirm current hours, tours, and events with the Historical Society or the Town of Mint Hill before visiting.
- Buildings are not open at all times; interiors may be accessible only during tours or events.
- Ask about accessibility — historic structures can have steps and narrow doorways.
Reading the Site
- Original buildings versus relocated buildings.
- Reconstructed elements and replacement materials.
- Exhibits and interpretation.
We do not publish dates or stories for individual structures until verified with the Historical Society.
